♥️🎉March is celebrated as ‘International Women’s Month’ and today, March 8th, is International Women’s Day! It’s one of my favorite days of the year because it celebrates the sisterhood! 🎉♥️ It’s not just a date on the calendar -- it's a powerful symbol of solidarity, progress, and the on-going struggle for gender equality.
💡This day matters because it serves as a catalyst for change by honoring achievements, while also reminding us of the work that still lies ahead, all over the world. International Women's Day is a global celebration that marks the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. This year’s theme, "Breaking Barriers, Building a Better Future" calls for reflection on the importance of building bridges instead of walls, to explore the importance of empowering women in ALL aspects of life.
International Women's Day has a rich history dating back to the early 20th century. Originating from the labor movement, this day has evolved into a global celebration that transcends borders and cultures. It’s become a rallying point for women's rights movements, as a day to amplify the voices of women and highlight the need for gender equality.
In a world where unity and collaboration are essential, this year's celebration underscores the significance of fostering connections, breaking down barriers, and collectively working towards a more inclusive and equitable society. Building bridges means doing the following:
